anong meron ang taong happy?

Photo taken during a relaxing weekend at Taal View Heights.

While googling the other night, I came across this site which did a survey asking people how they define "happiness."  There were about fifty answers but my favorite were the quirky ones:

"I define happiness as … not having your name show up in the obit column."
Ed Scull, Georgia, USA

"I define happiness as … that reassuring sound of the other guy’s fax machine kicking in.  ‘It’s going through…it’s really going through!’"
Patricia Gomes, Massachusetts, USA

"I define happiness as … walking through the dewy summer grass barefoot, the smile on a person’s face upon seeing you, the warm sun shining on your face, the feeling of being completely loved faults and all."
Noel Collins, Connecticut, USA

"I define happiness as … the fresh scent of a soft Spring rain, the kiss of morning sunshine, and the embrace of a crisp Autumn breeze."
Yolanda Anderson, Alabama, USA

"I define happiness as … The smile on my son’s face when he wakes up and the sun is shining after 4 days of rain, and he says ‘mom, I can do my running today!’"
Helene Nicol, South Africa

"I define happiness as being able to sit in the hammock on a spring evening and know I am valuable–even after having two story submissions rejected by editors, one book proposal rejected and hearing my cousin just got a book deal with a major publisher."   Alice J. Wisler, North Carolina, USA

"I define happiness as … comfortable shoes."
Sarah White, Arkansas, USA

If I were part of the survey, I’d define happiness as…

.…dancing to reggae music.

…getting a new stamp on my passport.

…the smell of sunblock.

…a good full-body massage.

…a new pair of original Havaianas which costs only P200.

…the beach!

…seeing The Brat dance "Kagat-Labi."

…taking a good photo.

…the anticipation of having a new member in the family.

…Tagaytay weekends with the gang.

…videoke!  (This should include hogging the mic eighty percent of the time!)

taho in the morning.

…buying bagfuls of cheap good finds in 168.

…a plateful of sushi.

…finishing a good book.

…getting "kilig-bumps" over no-brainer romantic flicks.

…finishing a script with minimal revisions.

…good conversations.

…Mrs. Fields cookie nibblers.

…a good burp after devouring sinful slices of a four-cheese pizza.

…Bora’s famous chori burger.

…brewed coffee.

…snuggling under thick comforters on a rainy day.

…listening to The Beatles’s "Here Comes The Sun."

…dinnertime with The Family.

…Fruit Loops.

…watching "Ever After" over and over and over again.

…feeling that you just made someone’s day.

…cracking up over a really good joke.

…FRIENDS, Grey’s Anatomy, Sex And The City, Heroes, The Amazing Race, High School Musical.

…shoes that fit perfectly.

…a good hair day.

…a big hug.

sex. good old toe-curling, tear-inducing sex with a very decent, mature and intelligent man who will make it a point to take care of me.
