the reluctant "ate"
Monday, October 1, 2007A Tuesday morning text message: "This is my new number. Carlo."
My reply: "Carlo who?"
His response: "Kapatid mo gago!"
Hahaha! Just one of those hilarious banters my younger brother and I normally have. We used to wrestle each other to death when we were kids. But growing up…well, I realized I love him more than I'm willing to admit :p And I'm proud of the young man he's become. (If you tell him that, I'm gonna kill you! Hahaha!)

That's the number of paying patrons who witnessed the De La Salle Archers beat the hell out of Ateneo Blue Eagles in Araneta this afternoon!
WOOHOOOO!
College was the last time I paid this much attention to a UAAP game. But last Thursday's newsroom scenario refuelled my enthusiasm for the classic DLSU-ADMU rivalry! 45 minutes before the primetime newscast, reporters, producers, and editors alike were all cheering and jeering, watching the last few minutes of the La Salle-Ateneo match. For a moment there I thought I was at the National Sports Grill! The newsroom was divide in two–La Sallians on the left, Ateneans on the right. And when Chris Tiu of Ateneo shot his winning half-point, our groans were drowned by the Ateneans' triumphant yells.
And I didn't hear the end of it the whole night. Grrrr.
So I'm now caught up in the fever again! And I swore this morning that I'll be walking into the newsroom victorious on Monday! And I was right! Because this afternoon, the De La Salle Green Archers beat the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 65-60!
WOOHOOOO!!!
In a futile effort to piss me off, everybody kept jeering that UE will beat us in the championship, hands down. I COULDN'T CARE LESS. Basta natalo namin ang Ateneo!
Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if UE wins. Lasalista ang coach nila eh. Bwahahaha!
UAAP ticket circa 2000.
ANIMO LA SALLE!!!
